In the spirit of compassion, generosity and community that defines the holy month of Ramadan, Standard Chartered Uganda partnered with Salaam Charity to donate assorted food supplies to three Muslim-founded schools in Kampala, it said in a media statement.

The food items were delivered by staff from Standard Chartered Uganda together with their client, MultiChoice, to Jakayz Secondary School in Kabowa, Namasuba, and Asiyah Kids Academy in Kiteezi. The support is intended to assist students and staff as they observe the fasting period during Ramadan. The donated packages included essential food items commonly used in the preparation of meals during the holy month.

The initiative forms part of the bank’s ongoing efforts to stand alongside communities during important cultural and religious moments while supporting institutions that nurture and educate the next generation.

The handover was led by Margaret Kigozi, Head of Corporate Affairs, Brand and Marketing at Standard Chartered Uganda, who was accompanied by colleagues from the bank during visits to the respective schools.
