dfcu Bank has rewarded eight customers under its ongoing “School Fiiz! Weight Off!” campaign, an initiative aimed at easing the financial pressure associated with school fees payments for parents, guardians and education institutions across Uganda.
The winners received their cash prizes at the bank’s Head Office in Kampala on 13 February 2026, marking another milestone in the three-month nationwide campaign designed to reduce the financial stress that typically accompanies the start of the academic term.
The initiative was launched ahead of the first school term that began on 10 February and targets the entire education ecosystem, including parents, schools, students and education suppliers, through a mix of convenient payment platforms, credit solutions and insurance products.
Among the beneficiaries was Ssekidde Alex, a medical assistant at Rakai Hospital, who said the bank’s school fees loan enabled him to pay tuition on time. He noted that the fast processing of the loan helped him avoid the usual financial anxiety experienced at the beginning of the school term.

Another winner, Doreen Muhoza Kamugisha, welcomed the cash reward she received after paying school fees through the bank’s payment channels during the campaign period, describing it as a timely financial boost.
Under the promotion, parents and guardians who pay at least Shs300,000 in school fees through dfcu channels or take loans with a minimum net take-home amount of Shs15 million qualify for weekly draws.
Each week, 15 customers are rewarded—five for school fees payments and 10 for borrowing—bringing the total number of winners expected over the three-month campaign to 195. Borrowing customers receive tiered rewards ranging from Shs200,000 to Shs500,000 depending on the loan amount.
The campaign also targets schools, with institutions that increase their school fees collections through dfcu by at least 20 percent—meeting minimum thresholds of Shs500 million for Kampala-based schools and Shs300 million for upcountry schools—or those that take up bancassurance policies during the period standing a chance to win a library stock-up package worth Shs5 million to support learning infrastructure.
As part of the initiative, the bank is offering unsecured personal loans of up to Shs400 million, mobile loans of up to Shs5million, and school owners’ financing of up to Shs500 million, alongside vehicle and asset financing options. Qualifying loans can be processed within 24 hours. The program is further supported by schools comprehensive insurance cover and school motor comprehensive insurance products designed to protect property, vehicles, staff, students and third-party liabilities.
The “School Fiiz! Weight Off!” campaign is open nationwide for three months, with parents and guardians able to pay school fees through the dfcu QuickApp, USSD *240#, dfcu agents and branches, as well as partner platforms including SchoolPay, SurePay and PegPay.
