Uganda’s Electoral Commission has reminded stakeholders that repeat elections for Sub County, Town and Municipal Division Local Government Councils in affected electoral areas will be conducted on Thursday, March 12, 2026.

In a notice, the Commission said the repeat polls are being organized in electoral areas where voting was not conducted or was not concluded during the earlier elections held on February 4, 2026.

According to the Commission, the exercise will cover several leadership positions at the local government level. These include chairpersons, directly elected councillors, women councillors and councillors representing Special Interest Groups such as youth, older persons and persons with disabilities.

Voting will take place at designated polling stations and Electoral College venues within the affected areas.

It said polling will begin at 7:00 AM and close at 4:00 PM, urging all stakeholders and eligible voters in the concerned areas to participate in the exercise in accordance with electoral guidelines.
