Jubilee Insurance Uganda has honoured some of its best-performing insurance agents during a recognition gala held in Kampala, where the company celebrated outstanding contributions toward expanding insurance awareness and customer outreach across the country.
The event attracted insurance professionals, company executives, financial advisors and other stakeholders from Uganda’s financial services sector in a celebration focused on excellence, professionalism and industry growth.
Among those recognised were Rosemary Nabatanzi and Nelson Nsubuga, who were applauded for exceptional performance in client acquisition, policy retention and customer service delivery.
Company leaders described the award recipients as key contributors to strengthening confidence in insurance services and helping more Ugandans access financial protection products.
Speaking during the gala, Jubilee Insurance Acting Chief Executive Officer Eugine Mutekhele commended agents for serving as the company’s frontline ambassadors in communities where insurance penetration remains relatively low.
“Agents remain our strongest link to communities and businesses, particularly in areas where insurance penetration is still low,” Mutekhele said.
He noted that insurance agents continue to play a critical role in educating the public about the importance of financial protection while helping businesses and families manage risks.
Jubilee Insurance Chief Operating Officer Dorcus Kuhimbisa emphasized the importance of building long-term relationships with clients instead of focusing only on policy sales.
She encouraged agents to better understand customers’ financial needs and recommend products that suit their income levels and life goals.
Officials at the event observed that customer trust and continuous engagement remain vital for improving policy retention and increasing uptake of insurance products in Uganda.
The company also unveiled new motivation initiatives aimed at strengthening its agency network across the country. The programmes include performance-based incentives and expanded professional development opportunities for agents.
Industry players attending the event highlighted the need for insurance firms to simplify products and improve public understanding of insurance, especially among people working in the informal sector who remain largely uninsured.
They noted that increasing awareness and trust in insurance services is essential for deepening financial inclusion and improving economic resilience among households and businesses.
Uganda’s insurance sector continues to register gradual growth, although penetration levels remain low compared to global averages. Experts say stronger agency networks, improved customer education and tailored products are critical to increasing uptake of insurance services.
The evening concluded with networking sessions and renewed commitments from both Jubilee Insurance leadership and agents to continue supporting insurance inclusion and customer confidence across Uganda.
